The Foundation Board has recently set a new goal to raise the $156,000 needed to replace the laboratory’s Chemistry Analyzer. This instrument performs the majority of the lab tests ordered from Horn Memorial Hospital, Horn Physicians Clinics, several outpatient clinic providers, and many area nursing homes. In short, this instrument helps the hospital service MANY community members. With the new Chemistry Analyzer, patients will benefit from faster turnaround times, which means less waiting for our patients, and less blood work sent to a reference lab.
Sarah Harm, Public Relations Director comments, “Horn Memorial strives to provide a large variety of services right here in our local community. The new Chemistry Analyzer is just another way for us to allow patients the opportunity to receive medical services without driving out of town. The annual Foundation Festival is a community-supported tradition that we hope to continue for many years to come. We have another great evening planned with dinner and entertainment that all ages are sure to enjoy.”
This year’s theme, “Doo Wop, Lab Hop”, will reflect the atmosphere for the evening’s entertainment, Richie Lee and the Fabulous 50’s. Karen Salmon, Board Trustee and former Foundation Member, suggested this group to the Foundation after seeing them perform last year. Karen comments, “They were fantastic, and I knew that they would be the perfect entertainment option for the hospital’s event. Anyone who enjoys good music will appreciate this young man.”
Attendees are encouraged to arrive between 5:30 and 6:00 in order to view all of the elaborate table decorations and auction items. Dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m. followed by the live auction and performance. Tickets for this year’s Festival are pre-sale only and on sale now at Horn Memorial Hospital, Horn Physicians Clinics, Spirits Stogies and Stuff, or from any of the following Foundation Board members: Shari Blake, Kathy Edsen, Deb Einspahr, Amy Godbersen, Gayle Harrison, Diane Patera, Cyndi Rock-Raasch, Lynn Segerstrom, Dale Ullrich and Kathy Wilke. The Foundation looks forward to seeing many community members at this event.
